Summer courses
Short two and three day courses have been developed for the shearing industry and will run over summer months.
A three day crutching and dagging course and a two day beginners wool handling course are now offered between late November and February.
The courses have been specially designed for people who have no or very little experience in the woolshed and are not currently employed in the industry.
Based in regional locations, the courses offer people a chance to learn the basic skills required to crutch and dag sheep and provides a general understanding of how a woolshed is set up and operates.
Like other Tectra courses, students can earn unit standards that can be used towards gaining a National Certificate in Wool Harvesting Level 2.
