Adding value to Merino wool in the wool shed - "Clip Preparation, Classing and Quality Control"

Tectra's Otago Regional Manager, Robert Pattison, introduces us to the complexities of preparing a Merino wool clip profitably and effectively for sale.

The main objective of clip preparation is to prepare wool for sale in the most efficient and economical way in order to maximise the net income for the farmer and provide a textile fibre that processors can use with confidence.

Robert has some tips for doing this and outlines the factors that have an influence on the quality and variability of a wool clip.
