Tectra's Master Blade Shearer Shows His Worth

Monday, 1 November 2004
Tectra’s Regional Training Coordinator Noel Handley proved he still has what it takes when he won the Open Blade Competition at the recent Waimate Shears competition.

The Waimate Shears is one of the major competitions on the Shearing Sports New Zealand calendar attracting shearers from all over New Zealand and the odd one from overseas.

Earlier this year Noel was elected a Master Blade Shearer, a prestigious title given he is joining a group of just 16 others. His winning performance at the Waimate Shears confirms Noel’s position as a world-class shearer and a great representative for Tectra.

Bruce Walker, Tectra’s Southland Regional Training Coordinator, also did well at the competition, placing second in the Open Plate Machine Shearing competition.
