PasturePlan monitor farm profiles

Meat & Wool Innovation has 40 PasturePlan monitor farms around the country. Each fortnight, the PasturePlan farmers cut a fixed area of pasture on two sites on their farms, weigh it and send a sample to AgResearch at Lincoln for nutritional and dry matter analysis. The farmers are also calibrating plate meters and pasture probes for use on sheep farms. The results are published in newspapers once a month and distributed fortnightly by fax or e-mail.
