Schools Courses
Tectra delivers training services into secondary schools to provide tactile learners with the skills to work in entry-level jobs on farms. The focus is to give students the ability to gain significant work and industry skills and enhance their employability. At the same time they gain associated credits in vocational, humanities and numeracy & literacy unit standards.
Courses are available for school students where training can be given during school time using STAR / Gateway and user pays funding or through holiday courses using Polytechnic funding.
Specific course design can be tailored to suit the students’ / schools needs – from a few units through to training and support to achieve National Certificates in either Wool Harvesting or Agriculture (farming).
These courses include both on and off job training components with follow up assessments.
For information on Schools courses in Wool harvesting please contact the Tectra Regional Manager in your area.
For courses in General Agriculture, please contact Noel Handley on 027 295 4176
