Wool harvesting training

Meat and Wool Innovation(MWI) is the largest trainer of shearers, wool handlers and pressers in New Zealand. Our courses include:

• Wool handling
• Shearing
• Pressing, and
• Certificate in Wool Handling Systems.

All of these courses are part of the National Qualifications Framework. We run courses for schools, through our 'Wools in Schools' programme.

Sheep farming courses

Introduction to sheep genetics
This course gives an introduction to sheep genetics. It is aimed at ram breeders, farmers and students who want to learn more about performance recording. It covers the practical application of genetic principles to modern sheep breeding.
